NAME:MUTALE MWASUKA VISION:ERADICATING POVERTY IN COMMUNITY INTRODUCTION My names are mutale mwasuka, i reside in kalumbila northwestern part of Zambia, am pastoling a small church in the rural part of kalumbila,am married to a beautiful with one son my passion is to help people out of poverty Eradicating poverty is the Christian organization, which has been made to work closely with the church, this organization has been made to eradicate poverty in the community, 50% of the people in the community are peasant farmers, but because of the level of poverty in Africa including Zambia plus the scarcity of farming inputs farmers are not producing enough to mitigate the needs of the community GOALS - to train farmers using organic techniques - to diversify farming products to food processing - to train farmers,animal keeping and bird rearing for business - to establish farmers through empowerment TRAINING FARMERS USING ORGANIC TECHNIQUES In Africa the difficult we have in farming its about farming inputs, like fertilizer, pesticides, fungicides and many more this has brought alot of challenges because money is a problem already, as the Christian organization we have seen that, the problem of hanger is affecting everyone whether am a Christian or not,thefore we have sought different way of farming,were by you are spending less and harvest more,this is conservation farming, using natural elements to make fertilizer it can take us along way. DIVERSIFYING FROM FARMING PRODUCTS TO FOOD PROCESSING In Africa mostly we sale agricultural products in a law material, that's why we sale them at a cheaper price but if we can add value to our agral products and learn agribusiness then, we can add profit to our income generation, as for the organization we want to empower the community with this knowledge, that's one of the ways we can eradicate poverty, let's take for instance we buy a oil expeller or a peanut butter machine, we can use this machines to make cooking oil or peanut butter using our agricultural products and sale them at a higher price this can lead to eradicate poverty in our community TRAINING FARMERS ANIMAL KEEPING AND BIRD REARING We believe God does not give us,whatever we have in vain, but for a reason and purpose, this is in connection with the vast land we have in Africa specifically Zambia,what does it mean to us,one of the best agribusiness in the world is butchery business almost 60% of the world population would love to eat beef, but few suppliers especially in Africa where we are lacking understanding on animal keeping, therefore as an organization we want to give the church and community that opportunity to understand how we can do that, its not only about business but also food supplement at house hold level,this also can help us eradicate poverty in our community. ESTABLISHING FARMERS THROUGH EMPOWERMENT Now all this we have talked about can not happen without money, because money is the key to most of the things we do,after training someone for one year,we have to work with the particular person for the period of one year again, after that we have to let go of that person, with a certain amount of money as an empowerment fund according to the capacity of an organization to inable him acquire land and a startup capital we believe by doing so,we can eradicate poverty in our community CONCLUSION In conclusion we would love to say yes we have challenges in Africa specifically Zambia, and poverty rate is very alarming but we can do something about it,its not really a problem if you can do something, the problem comes when you give up, therefore let's arise and work together as a community of believes together we can.
