My nane is grace,. I wad born on 26/11/73 in UTH, LUSAKA. As a second born child of Peter Chuma and Juliet Chuma. I grew up in a good home, my parents were Educators. My father a lecturer at the University of Zambia. My mother wasa primary school teacher and all of us Children went through her teaching process. Our family home was full of activities and friendly family dance competitions. After graduating university, i worked for the bank briefly for seven and half years , before the Lord called me into full time ministry. It was at this time while working for the bank that i was tested HIV positive in 1996, at that time there were no ARV's. It was at this time tjat my perspective on life changed. It was a moment of awakening that i may not live long, but my mother encouraged me to live positively. Later when i found myself a single mother of not one but two children, was hard especially with my HIV status and the stigma of having children out of wedlock, culturally this was hard for me because of the level which comes with single parenthood, but my parents helped me through the process of parenting. I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and savoiur in Feburary,1999. I got married 11th August,2007, i lost my memory two years in marriage. Just woke up one morning not remembering anything not even my name later on my husband. This took me jnto a journey of mental treatment for the next nine years. The doctor said i would be on mental medication for the rest of my life but the Lord touched me and healed me after nine years of treatment. When i started taking ARV"S my CD4 was below 100.. I have now been xhecked several times and the Doctors have said that the virus is none dectectable. As a result of this journey the Lord put a vision in my heart to minister to people from my life experiences. First to minister to single parents, where there is only a father or mother and to children born without a father around whats called born out of wedrock. Also to children rejected at birth by thier biological parents, they may even been thrown away at birth because of thier circumstance of conception. This vision is called springs of mercy. Why? Because i have personally experienced so much mercy in my own life from our Father God. I am also working with other women of God to rise women in their callings and gifting from God. Women to come to a place of understanding their purpose in God and in society. This ministry is called women with the voice and the vision is driven from the story of Debora In Judges 4&5. Through Springs of Mercy, we are going to minister to the Spiritual, emotional, phycioliogical and physical needs of the Single parents. Adding value and hope to single family homes. We are also planning to create mentorship programmes wirh couples ready to take these single parents under their wings for a set peroid of time. The ministry will bring in testimonies of men and women whom God has raised having come from this same background and are now settled in life and in God. I also have a dream of having a television channel where these stories can be shared and having many more people ministered to icluding other social media channel.
