I'm Ruth Lutuhezi, I do economic empowerment programs in my region. My focus is working with young women who have gone through gender-based violence and are living in vulnerable conditions. I have organized and facilitated the training of 174 young women in financial and entrepreneurial skills that have led to them to start their own businesses in various areas. I provide counseling services to victims of rape and domestic violence, and I train women in business to market their businesses and link them to potential funding. My vision is to establish a company that aims to educate and empower young women in Namibia to start their own businesses in order to reduce or alleviate dependency on men for livelihood, which in turn will impact the rate of new HIV infections and teenage pregnancy in Namibia.
